We are excited to be able to share with you a sample of our newly-released Revised Common Lectionary worship resource, An Illustrated Summer for Churches. In this downloadable PDF sample, you will find both the Illustrated Children’s Moments and the Worship Activity Shee for July 10, 2016. We focused on the story of the Good Samaritan, and you can view our sample materials here.
We are very excited to get these creative children’s worship resources into your hands for the summer. The illustrations for An Illustrated Summer are vibrant, fun and help tell the biblical story. We have received some raving reviews about our Worship Activity Sheets, and we hope you’ll enjoy this series of Worship Activity Sheets to cover worship from June 5 through August 28.
Below is the illustration for the week of July 10, depicting a moment from the Parable of the Good Samaritan.
I had a really great team helping to come up with much of the content for the Children’s Moments and Worship Activity Sheets, and that freed me up to put everything together – and gave me the chance to play around with some fun, illustrated text.
If you are looking for something new and different from your current children’s worship bulletins, this would be a great chance to try ours out for the summer and see what you think.
Multiple Uses for Illustrations
Many churches have found multiple uses for the Illustrated Children’s Moments. While many have used them for their Children’s Moments or Children’s Sermons, many others have used the images as bulletin covers (we send you both color and black and white versions that you can use). I’ve also heard of churches who have projected the images up on their screens during worship.
So, while you think you may not get around to using them all for children’s moments, there may be other opportunities for using them. Because though you may not have as many kids around each week during the summer, you certainly still do have to print bulletins, and why not use the summer as a chance to print some creative and fun bulletin covers.
